John William Wates (known as William Wates) is a Chartered Surveyor with nearly 40 years’ experience. Educated to Masters level in Modern History at Brasenose College, Oxford University he was elected a Professional Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in 1986 and subsequently a Fellow in 2005. This means that not only is he fully accredited, but he has been recognised for his individual achievement as a professional member. As per the RICS website: “RICS qualifications are recognised around the globe and RICS Fellowship is an international measure of excellence.”

William has personally conducted over 6000 surveys and 2000 Party Wall Awards since becoming a Chartered Surveyor.

In addition, William has held non-executive roles at various large companies and is highly active in the voluntary sector.
